NEWSPAPERS reported that some merchants of death consider it a good business to collect used syringes and needles at little or no price, wrap them in fresh packages and sell those for use.
The reputed hospitals probably take care not to buy such hazardous things. But most of the others -- and these are much more in number -- do not hesitate to use them because they are cheaper than the new ones.
Thus, syringes and needles that had been used on patients with AIDS, Hepatitis B and other very dangerous diseases, are reused on unsuspecting other patients who are most likely to be infected by the deadly and communicable diseases.
There is a pressing need to take immediate tough action against such offenders posing grave threat to public health. The law enforcement agencies need to be geared up to detect and arrest all connected with marketing such deadly products.
