Wastage of TQI-SEP money

TQI-SEP is working for quality. Under this project, almost all secondary school teachers, including head teachers, will be trained and all the teacher-educators of Teachers' Training Colleges (TTs) will be trained from home and abroad.

In the meantime, most of the teachers of secondary schools have already been trained under this project. Some teachers have attended training on two subjects though they are supposed to be trained on one. A few others who are not teachers have also been trained and that was purposeless.

Each course should be attended by 40-45 teachers, but on the first day only 10-12 persons attended some courses. After 2/3 days, the number of participants reached 20.

The cost of each course is almost the same. The quality of training is very poor and sometime participants just pass their time!

Twenty teacher-educators are attending an English Language Course in Canada. Of them 18 are Bengali Language teachers and two are from English Language, but they are attending the same course. Not only that, some teachers will be transferred to general colleges soon after their return in completion of foreign training although the training is suitable for the training colleges, not for the general colleges.

It is heard that some ministry people will attend a Teacher Education Programme in the UK under this project. Why?

Every TT college has two vehicles and these are not being used; yet this project has bought new vehicles for the field visit of TT college teachers!

We hear that our TQI Project Director (PD) has got an award from the Asian Development Bank (ADB) because the project has spent money somehow! This is our loan money and we have to repay. In last year's budget, we repaid a substantial amount of money. So, we should use their loan money for the greater benefit of our people.
