BIRMINGHAM, July 02 (Agencies): India opener Rohit Sharma became only the 2nd batsman after Sri Lankan batting legend Kumar Sangakkara to score 4 hundreds in a single edition of the World Cup. Rohit now has 26 hundreds in one-day internationals.
Rohit Sharma is now joint second in the list of most century scorers in World Cup history with Ricky Ponting and Kumar Sangakkara. All 3 men have scored 5 World Cup hundreds. Sachin Tendulkar leads the list with 6 hundreds.
Meanwhile, the 32-year-old also surpassed Australia's David Warner to become the leading run-scorer in the ongoing World Cup. Rohit has scored 544 runs so far in the tournament, while Warner's tally stands at 516.
