Most battles are won by surprise-but when sprung in peacetime, it only adds to unease.
The Indians are both surprised and upset by an unusually bold demand by China's navy chief during a multinational naval training drill this week at China's Qingdao port, reports Reuters.
India, Pakistan and Bangladesh joined the Chinese-sponsored exercise.
Admiral Wu Shengli, chief of the People's Liberation Army Navy and member of the Central Military Commission, asked the commander of Indian frigate INS Shivalik to be shown the Combat Information Centre (CIC) of an Indian frigate, Indian media reported.
