Muhith Bangabandhu Gold Cup organising committee chair

Finance Minister AMA Muhith has been made chairman of the organising committee of six-nation Bangabandhu Gold Cup International Football Tournament- 2015 to be held in Dhaka and Sylhet beginning on January 29, reports UNB.

Bangladesh Football Federation (BFF) President Kazi M Salahuddin disclosed this at a meeting held at BFF house Friday. The meeting also decided to form 12 subcommittees for smoothly running the tournament.

The subcommittees are Ceremonies, Reception, Protocol, Liaison, Accommodation and Transport, Media and Accreditation, Grounds, Medical, Souvenir, Disciplinary, Gate Management and Sitting Arrangement, Referees, Prize and Gift, Finance and Ticketing, Law and Order and Traffic Management.

Four matches-three group matches and one semifinal-will be held in Sylhet while the rest will be in Dhaka.  Hosts Bangladesh is placed in Group A along with Malaysia (AFC ranking 28) and Sri Lanka (36) while Group B teams consist of Bahrain (12), Thailand (23) and Singapore (30).

The prices of tickets for VIP and Gallery were fixed at Tk 100 and Tk 50 respectively for the group stage matches while Tk 150 and Tk 80 respectively for semifinals and final matches.  Private television Channel 9 will telecast live all the matches of the tournament.

The official campaign of the tournament began Thursday (January 15) with the unveiling of tournament's logo by the Finance Minister accompanied by SAFF and BFF president Kazi M Salahuddin at a hotel in the capital.
