HC rejects Mirza Abbas' plea to scrap graft case

The High Court (HC) rejected on Sunday an appeal filed by former BNP housing and public works minister Mirza Abbas to cancel a corruption case filed by Anti-Corruption Commission for amassing wealth beyond known sources of income, reports UNB.

An HC bench of Justice Nazrul Islam Talukder and Justice K M Hafizul Alam passed the order.

Md Khurshid Alam stood for ACC while deputy attorney general AKN Amin Uddin Manik for the state.

The appeal was filed on October 4.
