Underscoring the need for skills, higher education and research, new French Ambassador to Bangladesh Jean-Marin SCHUH has said France and Bangladesh should cooperate in preparation to address the future challenges.
The relationship between France and Bangladesh is a global one- extending from economic development and public policy to security and international trade, he observed.
"Through these (higher education and research), we can find ways to prepare for the future, adapt to the changing global environment and make the best use of young talents," said the ambassador who took over the charge two months ago.
The French envoy made the observations while addressing the launching ceremony of a new promotion campaign titled 'Higher Studies in France' held at his official residence in the capital on Sunday.
Deputy Head of Mission, Political and Cultural Affairs Frank Grützmacher Técourt and Alliance Francaise Director Olivier Dintinger attended the function, among others.
Focusing on the need for skilled workforces across the globe, he said in the period up to 2025, half of all jobs are projected to require high-level qualifications.
"From bachelor, to masters, to PhDs, France offers top education in every field, which is becoming more and more attractive", he said.
Assuring the intending Bangladeshi students of necessary support for studying in France, he said there will be simplification of visa policies, an increase in the programmes in French as a foreign language and programmes taught in English, and a global communications campaign.
