Gaibandha DAE takes extensive plan to grow winter veg

GAIBANDHA, Nov 11 (BSS): The Department of Agriculture Extension (DAE) has taken an extensive plan to cultivate winter vegetables in all the seven upazilas in the district during the current season.

DAE Office sources said at least 8000 hectares of land of the district would be brought under the cultivation programme this year with the production target of 12,830 metric tons of vegetables.

The vegetables include brinjal, radish, tomato, cauliflower, cabbage, bean, carrot, balsam apple, cucumber, turnip, parble and leafy vegetables.

The farmers are showing their interest in farming vegetables this year as they have got economical benefit in previous years.

In some of the places, the farmers have already started to cultivate vegetables on their land with the hopes of getting desired output against the vegetables and much profit from the farming.
