The frontal view of the 10 kw F M Radio Station at Karargati in Gopalganj — FE Photo GOPALGANJ, Oct 14: The construction of 10 kilo watt (kw) F.M. Radio Station has already completed.
The radio station will start functioning on October 31, official sources said.
Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina is expected to inaugurate the station by the video conference.
The Public Works Department (PWD) took possession on three acres of land in the financial year 2013-2014.
The authority later selected a land near Karargati on the Dhaka-Khulan Highway under Sadar upazila of the district for the project.
Sources said Rupali Construction (JV), M/S Islam Brothers and Galaxy Shourave (JV) took the responsibility for the construction of the radio station under the supervision of PWD.
The companies started the construction on January 2015.
Tk 16.38 billion was the project cost and the government was the fund provider.
Administration building including (studio), dormitory buildings, sub-station building, guard room, check post, police barrack, compound drain, etc are included in the project.
Amit Kumar Biswas, executive engineer of PWD, Gopalganj, said, "We tried to complete the project at the scheduled time."
