Road accidents leave four dead in districts

RANGPUR, Nov 11 (BSS): A couple was killed when a running train hit their motorcycle at Rampur Zortal rail crossing point on the Parbotipur-Syedpur road in Parbotipur upazila of Dinajpur district today.

"The accident occurred when the Chilahati bound 'Titumir Express' intercity train from Rajshahi hit the motorcycle while crossing the rail crossing point at about 12 noon," Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Syedpur Government Railway Police Station Emdadul Haque said.

The deceased were identified as Moksedul Islam, 37, and his wife Sahura Begum, 33, of Sreerampur Baghachora village in Belaichondi union under Parbotipur upazila.

The couple was going to Syedpur in Nilphamari district from Parbotipur upazila town riding on the motorcycle.

Being informed, police personnel from Syedpur GRP Thana rushed to the spot and recovered the bodies.

An unnatural death (UD) case was filed in this connection with Syedpur GRP

Thana police, the OC added.

In Bogura, a bus helper was killed as a passenger bus hit his bus in Shahjahanpur upazila of the district in the early hours of Sunday.

The helper was identified as Rohim Mia, 28, resident of Nilsagor Balubari village under Dinajpur Sadar.

Police said the accident occurred in Rohimabad area on the Dhaka-Bogura Highway. Helper of the bus Rupa Poribahon fell down from his bus as another bus hit it from behind.

He was admitted to Shaheed Ziur Rahman Medical College Hospital, where he succumbed to his injuries.

Shahjahanpur Thana police seized the two buses.

In Gopalganj, a youth was killed and three others were injured as a passenger bus collided head on with another vehicle in Tongipara upazila of the district this noon.

The deceased was identified as Limon Munshi, 24, hailed from Matla village in Sadar upazila.

The injured were sent to Tongipara Upazila Health Complex where the duty doctor declared Limon dead.
