DSCC fixes beef price at Tk 525, mutton Tk 750

The Dhaka South City Corporation (DSCC) fixed on Monday the prices of beef at Tk 525 and buffalo at Tk 480 for Ramadan, which are Tk 75 and Tk 60 higher respectively than last year's prices. The DSCC authorities fixed the prices of mutton at Tk 750 and that of lamb at Tk 650, which were Tk 720 and Tk 600 respectively last year. —NB

Khulna jute mills workers go on strike

KHULNA, May 06: Workers of nine jute mills in Khulna region went on strike on Sunday afternoon demanding payment of their dues. The workers of Platinum Jute Mill halted production around 6.00pm on Sunday and then workers of other jute mills in Khulna and Jashore suspended their production. — UNB
