The High Court (HC) has summoned an election commissioner to appear before it on contempt charges, reports bdnews24.com.
The court on Tuesday also asked Sohul Hossain to appear on Oct 7 and explain why punitive actions would not be taken against him for defaming the court.
The bench of justices A H M Shamsuddin Chowdhury and Sheikh Mohammad Zakir Hossain gave the order following a case filed earlier on the day by Mahiuddin Khan Alamgir MP, presidium member of the ruling Awami League.
