November 12, 2018 00:00:00

Bangladesh Women's team made another dismal performance in their second Group C Asian Qualifiers match of the Women's Olympics Football Tokyo- 2020 with a humiliating 1-7 goals defeat against India at the Thuwunna Stadium in Yangon, Myanmar on Sunday afternoon, reports UNB.

With the day's frustrating performance, Bangladesh were almost out of the race conceding 2nd consecutive defeat following their 0-5 goals loss against hosts and upper-ranked Myanmar in the first match on Thursday.

With the day's impressive victory, India not only dominated the Group C list with unbeaten record securing four points from two matches to confirm a 2nd round berth from the group, but also maintained their winning run against the Bangladesh senior team.

Earlier in the opening group match, India dropped important points after playing 1-1 draw against Nepal.

Earlier, Bangladesh Women's team lost to India by 1-3 goals in the final of the last SAFF Women's Championship in Siliguri in January last year and conceded 0-3 goals defeat against India in qualifying round of the 2012 London Olympics in Dhaka.

Myanmar were scheduled to play Nepal in their 2nd Group C match on Sunday evening at the same venue.

In the day's first match, Bala Devi made a hat-trick scoring four goals in the 22nd, 23rd, 62nd and 75th minutes while Kamala Devi struck two in the 16th (penalty) and 53rd minutes while Sanju netted the other goal in the 73rd minute for India, which dominated the first half by 3-0 goals.

Krishna Rani Sarkar scored the consolation goal for Bangladesh in the 81st minute.
