National Men's H’ball begins tomorrow, Women's today

The Exim Bank 28th National Men's Handball Championship, organised by Bangladesh Handball Federation (BHF), begins tomorrow (Tuesday) at the Shaheed Captain (Retd) M Mansur Ali National Handball Stadium in the city, reports UNB.

President of the Bangladesh Insurance Association Sheikh Kabir Hossain will inaugurate the meet Tuesday afternoon. Director of the meet's sponsor Exim Bank Nurul Amin Faruq will be present as the special guest.

Rajshahi District will play Dinajpur District in the official inaugural match following the opening ceremony at 03:00 pm, although the men's competition will begin in the morning..

The Exim Bank 29th National Women's Handball Championship begins today (Monday).

General Secretary of Bangladesh Handball Federation Asaduzzaman Kohinoor disclosed the details of the tournaments at a press conference at the federation office on Sunday.

Chairman of the Men's Committee Hasanullah Khan Rana and Chairman of the Women's Committee Mokbul Hossain also spoke on the occasion.

Tournament's sponsor Exim Bank will provide Tk 25,00,000 for both the tournaments.

Out of total budget Tk 1.49 million (14.90 lakh) will be given to the men's and Tk 0.95 million for the women's meet.

A total of 29 district teams, split into eight groups, are initially taking part in the men's competition.
