‘Boost fisheries, livestock production’

Fisheries and Livestock Secretary Roisul Alam Mondal has urged the officials and other employees concerned to boost fisheries and livestock production to meet demands of animal protein, reports BSS.

He stressed the need for taking proper planning and new innovative strategies to enhance the production while sharing views with divisional, district and upazila level officials of the two departments in two separate

meetings in Rajshahi city as the chief guest.

Director General of Department of Fisheries Kazi Shams Afroz and Director General of Department of Livestock Services and other senior officials were also present at the meetings and spoke.

Roisul Alam urged the officials to discharge their respective duties with utmost sincerity and honesty to attain the cherished goal of making them self-sufficient in fish and livestock production.

Utmost emphasis should be given on disseminating and expanding the modern technologies to grassroots farmers so that they can increase their fisheries and livestock production.

He said the village peoples are habituated in fish and livestock farming ancestrally. So, they must be familiarised with the modern knowledge to elevate their production after the best uses of existing natural resources.
