Honda starts manufacturing in Bangladesh

Bangladesh Honda Private Limited (BHL), the Japanese Honda Motor Company's joint venture in Bangladesh, has started motorcycle manufacturing in Bangladesh at its new factory in the Abdul Monem Economic Zone at Gazaria under Munshiganj district. Industries Minister Amir Hossain Amu on Sunday inaugurated the new plant as the chief guest at a function, said a press release here. Speaking on the occasion, Amu traced back the existing relations between Bangladesh and Japan and said Japan lent support to Bangladesh's Liberation War. Parliament Member Saber Hossain Chowdhury, Executive Director of the Bangladesh Economic Zone Authority (BEZA) Paban Chowdhury, Bangladesh Steel and Engineering Corporation (BSEC) Chairman Mizanur Rahman, Senior Managing Director and Chief Officer for Production Operations of Honda Motor Company Limited Yoshi Yamane and Managing Director and CEO of BHL, among others, were present at the function. — BSS

DBBL opens Fast Track SC booth

Dutch-Bangla Bank Limited (DBBL) has inaugurated its 880th Fast Track (FT) on the Supreme Court (SC) premises in Dhaka on Thursday. Chief Justice Sayed Mahmud Hossain inaugurated the Fast Track while Supreme Court BAR Association President Advocate Jainul Abedin and Secretary Barrister A.M. Mahbub Uddin Khokon, and DBBL Managing Director & CEO Abul Kashem Md. Shirin were present at the ceremony. Using this Fast Track, the honorable Judges, lawyers, employees of the Supreme Court and all other customers of the bank can withdraw cash, deposit money and get services like assistance for opening of bank account and Rocket account, assistance for obtaining cheque books, ATM card, card replacement, reporting of lost card etc. Among others, eminent members of the Supreme Courte and senior officials of the bank were present.
