Top management of Islami Bank Bangladesh Limited (IBBL) saw a major shake-up with discontinuation of contract, resignation and termination of its five top executives.

Among them, contract of additional managing director (AMD) Md. Shamsuzzaman was discontinued, while resignations of three deputy managing directors (DMDs) were accepted by its board of directors in the last two days.

The outgoing DMDs of IBBL are - Md. Habibur Rahman Bhuiyan, FCA, Abdus Sadeque Bhuiyan and Mohd. Mohon Miah.

Besides, senior executive vice-president (SEVP) Amirul Islam was terminated by the authorities concerned.

When contacted, IBBL Chairman Arastoo Khan acknowledged the development, saying: "It is nothing unusual, as such measures can take place in a bank, having more than 13,000 staff members."

IBBL's latest developments take place after some major changes that were initiated in its board of directors and top management, including chairman and MD, since January 05, 2017.
