The Criminal Investigation Department (CID) will probe the allegation of illegal financial transactions over the murder of Feni madrasah student Nusrat Jahan Rafi, report agencies.

"In the next week, a CID team will visit Sonagazi upazila in Feni district, where the murder took place, to investigate the matter," CID special superintendent Molla Nazrul Islam told a press conference at its headquarters in the city on Saturday.

If anyone is found involved in any illegal transaction over the murder of Nusrat, he or she would be brought to justice, he added.

"Following media reports regarding illegal transactions of money over Nusrat murder, a decision was taken to look into the matter," said the CID officer.

He said Organised Crime Unit of CID started working to unearth weather any illegal transaction took place to divert the incident to different directions.

Meanwhile, a team of Police Bureau of Investigation (PBI) recovered a burqa used during the killing of Feni madrasa girl Nusrat Jahan Rafi from Dangi canal in the Sonagazi municipality area on Saturday.

Shaha Alam, inspector of PBI and also the investigation officer of the case, said from the confessional statement of Nur Uddin and Sahadat Hossain Shamim, two accused in the murder case, police came to know that five people wearing burqa took part in the killing mission.

Following the statement of the duo, a team of PBI recovered one of the burqas from the area in the afternoon.

A court here on Saturday placed Sonagazi upazila unit Awami League President Ruhul Amin for a five-day remand over his involvement in madrasa girl Nusrat Jahan Rafi murder case.

Senior Judicial Magistrate Shoraf Uddin Ahmed passed the order while Police Bureau of Investigation (PBI) produced him before the court demanding seven-day remand.

Police detained Ruhul Amin from his house on Takia road of the municipality on Friday afternoon and later he was shown arrested in Nusrat Jahan Rafi murder case.

Ruhul is also the vice-president of Sonagazi Islamia Senior Fazil Madrasa's governing committee.

Nusrat, a student of Feni's Sonagazi Islamia Senior Fazil Madrasa, was set afire on April 6 allegedly for refusing to withdraw the case against the principal.

She breathed her last five days later at the Dhaka Medical College Hospital.
