The Dhaka University (DU) authorities and leaders of different student organisations discussed on Monday various aspects of the proposed Dhaka University Central Students' Union (DUCSU) and Hall Union elections.

The discussion was held under the banner of the Paribesh Parishad, a platform comprised of the university authorities and the active student organisations working on the campus, at Abdul Matin Virtual Classroom, adjacent to the vice-chancellor's office.

The DU Vice-Chancellor Professor Dr Md Akhtaruzzaman presided over the discussion.

Presidents and general secretaries of the central and DU units of 14 students' organisations took part in the meeting.

Bangladesh Chhatra League (BCL) president Rezwanul Haque Chowdhury Shovon and general secretary Golam Rabbani, DU unit BCL president Sonjit Chandra Das and general secretary Saddam Hussain, Jatiyatabadi Chhatra Dal (JCD) general secretary Akramul Hasan and its DU unit president AL-Mehedi Hasan Talukder and general secretary Abul Bashar Siddique, Chhatra Union president GM Jilani Shuvo and general secretary Liton Nondi, its DU unit president Foez Ullah and general secretary Rajib Das and other student organisations' representatives attended the meeting.

Otherwise, it will not be possible to hold a participatory and inclusive election. Our leaders and activists can't go to the campus owing to their identity. If this situation continues how can we expect a participatory poll."
