PM donates Tk 0.5m for Lucky\\\'s treatment

Prime Minister (PM) Sheikh Hasina has provided Tk 0.5 million (Tk 5 lakh) for the treatment of ailing veteran singer and artiste of war-time radio station Swadhin Bangla Betar Kendra Lucky Akhand, reports UNB.

 "The PM provided the financial assistance today for the medical treatment of the eminent artist now being treated in Thailand," PM's Special Assistant Mahbubul Hoque Shakil said.

Lucky Akhand, a prominent singer-composer and creator of numerous timeless modern Bangla songs, was hospitalised in Bangladesh on September 8 after he was detected with lung cancer. He was later taken to Bangkok for better treatment.
