India \\\'A\\\' beat Bangladesh \\\'A\\\'

Bangladesh\'s highest scorer Liton Kumar Das hit a run-a-ball 75 featuring eight fours and two sixes.

Bangladesh 'A' team conceded a 96-run defeat against India 'A' team in the first one-day battle of India tour at M Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru Wednesday, reports UNB.

Replying a mammoth 322 runs, Bangladesh finished their innings at 226 in 42.3 overs with a stunning 6th wicket stand for 120 runs in 20.1 between Liton Kumar Das and Nasir Hossain.

The pair carried the team total from 87/5 in 16.3 overs to 207/6 in 36.4 overs before Nasir was caught by Suresh Raina off a Gurkeerat Singh delivery.

Bangladesh's highest scorer Liton Kumar Das hit a run-a-ball 75 featuring eight fours and two sixes and was bowled out by Gurkeerat Singh at team's 219/7 in 38.3 overs.

Nasir scored 52 runs off 71 balls with two fours and two sixes while Sabbir Rahman (25), skipper Mominul Haque (19) and opener Rony Talukdar (13) were the other double-digit contributors for the side.

Gurkeerat Singh, 5 for 29 runs in 7.3 overs, broke the Bangladesh batting castle while Sreenath Aravind and Rishi Dhawan poured more sour grabbing 3 and 2 wickets respectively for the side.

Earlier, sent in to bat first, India 'A' team posted a formidable target of 322 for 7 in 50 overs against Bangladesh 'A' riding on the two vital pairs for 102 and 78 runs respectively in the 6th and 7th wicket stand.

Sanju Samson and Gurkeerat Singh contributed 102 runs in 14.5 overs to carry the team total from 125 to 227 runs.

On the way to brilliant contribution for the side, Sanju Samson scored team highest 73 off 76 balls featuring eight before he was caught by skipper Mominul Haque off a Shafiul Islam delivery at team's 305 for 7 in 48.3 overs.

Arafat Sunny trapped number seven Gurkeerat Singh lbw who was out for 65 off 58 balls involving nine fours leaving the team total at 227 for 6 in 40.3 overs.

After the departure of Gurkeerat, Sanju Samson contributed another 78 runs in 8 overs pairing with number eight batsman Rishi Dhawan who fired an unbeaten 56 off 34 balls featuring eight fours and two sixes.

Nasir Hossain forced Indian opener Mayank Agarwal to depart from the crease at team's 125 for 5 in 24.4 overs, who was caught by Soumya Sarkar, after knocking out another remarkable score of 56 off 70 balls with eight fours.

In the crucial point of their innings, Agarwal stayed with Sanju Samson in the fifth wicket, for 49 runs in 9.3 overs, to carry the team total from a meagre 76/4 in 16.1 to 125/5 in 25.4 overs.

India started their innings well as the opening stand contributed 44 runs in 5 overs, before Bangladesh young pacer Taskin Ahmed dismissed skipper Unmukt Chand who was caught by Liton Kumar Das for run-a-ball 16.

Bangladesh showed their bowling strength till the innings 16.1 overs downing the hosts' four wickets for 76 runs, but India denied the blow.

Nasir Hossain and Shafiul Islam grabbed two wickets each for 51 and 60 runs respectively in 9 and 10 overs. Taskin Ahmed and Arafat Sunny took one wicket each for 46 and 57 runs respectively. In their two other one-day matches visiting Bangladesh will face hosts India at the same venue on September 18 and 20.
