Thrust on strict monitoring to timely execute ADP projects under MoS

State Minister for Shipping Khalid Mahmud Chowdhury on Monday called upon the officials to apply strict monitoring for timely implementation of the ministry's projects under annual development programme (ADP).

The directive came at a meeting on revised ADP at the conference room of the Ministry of Shipping (MoS).

The meeting reviewed implementation of 49 projects involving a cost of over Tk 48.13 billion during the fiscal year (FY) 2019-20.

The MoS had spent 99.69 percent of total financial allocation against the projects those were taken under revised ADP (RADP) during the FY 2018-19. The rate was 99.06 per cent during the FY 2017-18.

The state minister said that lackadaisical attitude will not be tolerated in implementation of the projects.

Out of the RADP projects, the Bangladesh Inland Water Transport Authority (BIWTA) has 23 while three for Bangladesh Inland Water Transport Corporation (BIWTC), seven for Mongla Port Authority, eight for Bangladesh Land Port Authority, one for the MoS , two for Payra Port Authority, one for Chattogram Port Authority, one for Bangladesh Shipping Corporation, two for department of shipping, one for National Maritime Institute and one for National River Conservation Commission.

High officials of the ministry and departments concerned were present at the meeting.
