Death of Madrassah super in Rangpur accident sparks protest by locals

RANGPUR, July 12 (UNB): Local people set a bus on fire on Rangpur-Dhaka highway following the death of a super of a local Madrassah in a road accident at Modern Intersection in Rangpur city on Sunday.
Abul Kashem, a super of Jiatpukur Mazar Sharif Dakhil Madrassah in Rangpur city and a resident of Mithapurkur upazila was killed when a bus hit a motorcycle in front of Rangpur Cotton Research Centre in the morning, said Rafiqul Islam Rafique, Officer-in-Charge of Tajhat Police Station.
He met the tragic death while heading towards a madrassah to drop his seven-year-old girl. The girl however escaped unhurt as he threw his girl from the motorbike.
Later, local people set the bus on fire.
They also demanded immediate arrest of the bus driver and his helper.
On information, police recovered the body and sent it to Rangpur Medical College and Hospital morgue.
