Former minister Majid-ul-Haq passes away

Our Correspondent MAGURA, Mar 25: Former minister Major General (Retd) Majid-ul-Haq passed away Monday morning in Apollo hospital in Dhaka. He was suffering from old age complications. He died at the age of 87, leaving behind 2 sons and one daughter and a number of well-wishers to mourn his death. He was born in Magura in 1926. He was minister of establishment, water resources, agriculture and defense during BNP government. He was also a member of BNP standing committee for a long time and resigned from the post in 1998. He will be laid to rest at Banani graveyard in Dhaka Tuesday.
