BRAC University students visit Parliament

UNESCO Club, BRAC University, Dhaka undertook on June 18, 2015 a study tour to the Jatiyo Sangsad Bhavan, the national parliament house, Dhaka. The purpose of the visit was to develop an idea about law making process and other parliamentary affairs which are essential for the state and establishing peace.
UNESCO youth delegates met the officials of national parliament to get an idea on the role and functioning of parliament, law making process, various aspects of good parliamentary attitude and practice in the context of liberal democracy in Bangladesh and understand the problems and difficulties of the functioning of parliament.
On arrival, Advisor Ms. Meheri Tamanna and members of the delegation were greeted by Assistant Secretary of Bangladesh Parliament, Mr. Showkat Akbar. Then the delegates were taken to the library and other facilities of parliament. The tour was organised for the students of BRAC University. A total of 34 delegates attended the programme.
