Resolving youth unemployment

August 15, 2022 00:00:00

An unemployed life is a life of despair. However, the number of unemployed people is increasing day by day in Bangladesh. After completing their education, when our youngsters do not get their desired jobs, they just lose their confidence. Out of frustration, some of them even resort to suicide, indulge in criminal activity or decide to take illegal route for going abroad. In doing so, many are falling in the trap of human trafficking. A number of them are dying while taking risky routes to Europe and America.

The authorities concerned must realise the severity of the youth unemployment situation and take appropriate measures. If the unemployment rate decreases, we will move towards progress. The authorities should focus on creating opportunities to educate and train the youth so that they could equip themselves with the means to obtain a job and make a living.
