Trouble buying train tickets
March 23, 2025 00:00:00
Train is one of the most popular modes of transportation for the general public, especially during Eid or long holidays when people's reliance on trains increases. However, recently buying train tickets has become almost a matter of luck! When thousands of people try to log in to the online ticketing system at the start of ticket sales, technological failures begin. It takes a long time to log into the ticketing website, and often the site crashes. Even if a passenger somehow manages to enter the site, they often find that all the tickets have already been sold. Yet, later those same tickets are seen being sold at high prices in the black market outside the station.
Although there is an option to buy tickets through a mobile app, its condition is even worse. From logging into the app to completing the payment, passengers face various issues. It is often seen that money is deducted from the account, but the ticket does not get confirmed, and passengers have to wait for months to get a refund.
Due to various flaws and mismanagement in the online ticketing system, general passengers are facing a severe difficulty, which is eroding their trust in train travel. It is crucial to make the train ticketing system transparent and easily accessible to the public. The technological issues of the website and app should be resolved quickly, scalping should be prevented, and transparency in the ticket purchasing process should be ensured.
