Enhancing bonding for youth development

International Youth Centre (IYC), Kuala Lumpur in collaboration with the Ministry of Youth and Sports Malaysia and the Malaysian Youth Council (MYC) organised the International Youth Centre Engagement Conference (IYCEC) from April 22 to 28, 2019 at the International Youth Centre in Cheras, a district of Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.
This conference was held to enhance bonding for the development of youths in the region with the slogan 'Urban resilience to enhance international youth centres'. In the opening ceremony, Dr Mohamed Maliki B Mohamed Rapiee, MBM (Majlis Belia Malaysia) president and member of the board of IYC said, "Through this conference, we will be able to learn and share how we can safeguard the existence of international use and the facilities and how we can offer services at a competitive cost. "
Among youths from 12 countries, 14 members from the Bangladeshi delegation participated in the conference at the International Youth Centre. One of them was Director and Chief Technical Officer (CTO) at Battery Low Interactive Limited Minhaj Mimo. He is one of the prominent entrepreneurs of Bangladesh, working for shaping the game industry of Bangladesh. Mimo said, "Today's youths are tomorrow's future. To fulfil our dream of 'Digital Bangladesh', youths can be an x-factor. We are trying to improve the skills and capabilities of our young generation so that they can take the challenge and lead the industry when it will be needed."
The conference was organised to bring together professionals, practitioners and youth centre workers from around the world to organise and share their experience in building and managing their human capital resources and the governance of their centres in the delivery of the programme to increase the role and sustainability.
Dr KK Singh, chairman of IYC, India said, "If you should cry, cry for something beautiful. The heart weeps. The heart rejoices. Suffer what is there to suffer, enjoy what there is to enjoy, and continue to fill the heart with gratitude. At the touch of gratitude, both your tears and your joys will melt to be beautiful."
The closing ceremony was officiated by the Minister of Youth and Sports in Malaysia Syed Abdul Rahman Syed Saddiq. He emphasised consistent efforts towards Social Development Goals (SDGs), which include the issues of sustainable development, leadership training, youth facilities, and so on. "I also hope that youths around the world will attend this conference to bridge the global peace," he added.
