Four EC channels to provide voter info

FE REPORT | February 08, 2026 00:00:00

The Bangladesh Election Commission (EC) has introduced four channels to disseminate voter number and polling centre information -- its official app, website, dedicated call centre and SMS.

The initiative aims to offer quick and accurate information to citizens across the country ahead of 13th parliamentary election and referendum scheduled for February 12.

Voters can access information through the 'Smart Election Management BD' app, available on both Play Store and App Store. Users must  install the app, select the '13th National Parliamentary Election' from the dashboard and select 'Find a voting centre' option. Then they will enter their National ID (NID) number and date of birth in the form. The system will then display the voter's serial number and the specific address of the polling centre.

A dedicated hotline service is also available, for which a voter should dial 105. Voters can speak directly to an operator by pressing '9' between 6:00 am and 12:00 am daily. Callers will need to provide their NID number and date of birth to receive information.

The EC also launched a text message service. Citizens can find their details by typing 'PC <space> NID number' and sending it to 105. A return SMS will confirm the voter number and centre.

The EC's official website, ecs.gov.bd will allow users to search by selecting their specific constituency or by entering NID credentials. The website also features an integrated Google Maps tool. This allows voters to view the exact location of their polling station, calculate the distance, and find the most efficient travel route.
