Chattala Express train catches fire

CHATTOGRAM, Mar 26: A fire broke out on the Chattala Express, an intercity train of Bangladesh Railway (BR), in an area adjacent to the Bhatiari Bangladesh Military Gate at Sitakunda in Chattogram today.
The accident took place on the train after it left Chattogram Railway Station at 7.00 am.
It is learnt, the fire erupted in the engine and two coaches of the Chattala Express.
After the fire broke out, the passengers quickly got off the train. No casualties have been reported in the incident yet.
Upon receiving the information, a unit of the fire service quickly reached the spot and started trying to control the blaze.
Ahsan Ali, sub-station officer of Kumira Fire Service, said that the fire was brought under control within an hour.
