CIID seizes Tk 38.04m foreign currencies at HSIA

The Customs Intelligence and Investigation Directorate (CIID) officials recovered foreign currencies worth Tk 38.04 million at the Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport (HSIA) in the capital on Friday, according to its press release.
Acting on a tip-off, the CIID officials conducted a raid on a Bangkok-bound flight, BS-217, and recovered the foreign currencies from two passengers, Rafiqul Islam and Al Amin Mollah.
The officials seized foreign currencies, including Saudi riyal, euro, pound, and Thai baht, worth Tk 22.05 million from Rafiqul's luggage. From Al Amin's luggage, they recovered foreign currencies, including Saudi riyal and Thai baht, worth Tk 15.98 million.
