DNC official shot during drive in city

An official of the Department of Narcotics Control (DNC) was shot and injured by a suspected drug dealer and terrorist during an anti-narcotics drive in the capital's Sayedabad area on Monday.

The injured, Siddiqur Rahman (41), is an inspector of DNC Khilgaon zone.

DNC inspector Md Fazlul Haque Khan said Siddiqur Rahman was shot in his leg during the drive beside Sayeedabad Level Crossing at around 12:00 noon.

The terrorist fled the scene after shooting, while Siddiqur was rushed to Dhaka Medical College Hospital for treatment, he added.
