The Detective Branch (DB) of Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DB) has arrested four people in connection with the murder of Azizur Rahman Musabbir, former general secretary of the Dhaka North unit of Swechchhasebak Dal.
The information was confirmed on Sunday by Muhammad Talebur Rahman, deputy commissioner (DC) of the DMP Media and Public Relations Division.
A press conference was held in the afternoon at the DMP Media Centre, where Additional Police Commissioner (DB) Md Shafiqul Islam provided detailed information about the arrests.
It is worth mentioning that Azizur Rahman Musabbir was shot dead in public in the Karwan Bazar area of Dhaka on Wednesday night at around 8:20 pm.
Assailants who had been lying in wait opened fire on him while he was passing through an alley beside Star Kabab Restaurant.
During the incident, Abu Sufian Masud, general secretary of the Karwan Bazar Van Association, was also shot.
He is currently receiving treatment at Dhaka Medical College Hospital.
Following the incident, Musabbir's wife Suraiya Begum filed a case with Tejgaon Police Station, naming four-five unidentified individuals as accused.
