The Military Institute of Science and Technology (MIST) recently hosted a freshers' reception for the academic session 2025-2026 at the Shaheed Yamin Auditorium in capital's Mirpur Cantonment, according to a statement.
The programme commenced with the National Anthem, followed by a comprehensive presentation and visual showcase highlighting the academic and administrative activities of MIST.
Two current students shared their experiences and insights into student life at the institution.
Several newly admitted students also expressed their enthusiasm and aspirations, while parents voiced their satisfaction with MIST's disciplined and supportive academic environment.
Chairman of the University Grants Commission (UGC) of Bangladesh, Professor Dr. Mamun Ahmed, attended the programme as the chief guest.
Congratulating the freshers on their admission, he encouraged them to embrace discipline, innovation and continuous learning.
He also underscored the importance of active participation in co-curricular activities, including robotics, cultural and literary pursuits, cybersecurity, debating and aeronautics, to develop leadership skills and ensure holistic growth.
MIST Commandant Major General Md Hakimuzzaman, along with deans, department heads, faculty members, staff, parents and newly admitted students, attended the event.
