Nurse, ex-mayor die of Covid-19, three including UP chairman die with corona symptoms

Virus death crosses 200-mark in Ctg district

A senior staff nurse in Sylhet and former Nalitabari municipality mayor Abdul Halim Ukil died of Covid-19 between Sunday night and Monday.

Meanwhile, chairman of Manda upazila parishad in Naogaon district and two in Cumilla died of coronavirus symptoms on Monday morning. The number of coronavirus death in Chattogram reached 205.

Our Sylhet Correspondent reports: Senior Staff Nurse at the Shahid Shamsuddin Ahmed Hospital Isolation Centre Nasima Parvin died of Covid-19 on Monday morning.

Wife of Zinnat Ali Mazumder of village Akcha of Thakurgaon Sadar upazila had been under treatment at her workplace since she had tested positive on July 02. She was shifted to the ICU the following day, hospital sources informed. She died at 7:30 am on Monday.

UNB from Sherpur says: Freedom Fighter and former Nalitabari municipality mayor Abdul Halim Ukil died of Covid-19 on Sunday night. He was 67.

Abdul Halim, a member of district Awami League executive committee, was diagnosed with coronavirus on June 25 and undergoing treatment at Bangladesh-Kuwait Maitree Hospital in the capital.

Our Correspondent from Naogaon adds: Sardar Md. Jasim Uddin, chairman of Manda Upazila Parishad and General Secretary of Upazila unit Awami League, died of coronavirus-like symptoms on Monday.

UNB from Cumilla says: Two people who had been suffering from fever and cold related problems died at Comilla Medical College hospital in last 24 hours till Monday morning.

BSS from Chattogram adds: The number of coronavirus (Covid-19) positive cases crossed the 10000-mark as the record number of 292 new patients was diagnosed with the lethal virus.

With Monday's six deaths, the number of coronavirus death in Chattogram reached 205, he added.
