Obaidul Huq's 15th death anniv today

The 15th death anniversary of veteran journalist Obaidul Huq will be observed today (Thursday), says a statement.

Obaidul Huq, the editor of the now-defunct The Bangladesh Observer from 1972-84 when it was the largest circulated English daily in Bangladesh and also a doyen of journalism in the country, breathed his last on Oct 13, 2007, at his Banani residence in the city at the age of 96.

After leaving the Bangladesh Observer, the Ekushey Padak winning journalist edited the now-defunct English newspaper the Daily News.
