Police arrest 7 AL women activists

Police arrested seven women activists of Awami League (AL) from a sudden procession in the capital's Dhanmondi area on Friday morning.
Driver of a microbus that was used for carrying the AL activists was also detained. Police also seized the microbus.
Assistant commissioner of Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) Dhanmondi zone, Shah Mostofa Tariquzzaman, disclosed the information, saying that some 20-25 women activists of AL suddenly brought out the procession near Star Kabab on road number two of Dhanmondi.
They were carrying a banner reading "Mujib Lovers Bengali Women" and holding placards. They were also chanting slogans while moving towards Dhanmondi road number three.
The police official further said police rushed to the spot after getting the news of the sudden procession. The women activists dispersed and left the area once police arrived at the spot.
However, seven women AL activists were detained by police. A case under Anti Terrorism Act was filed against the detainees.
