Rich nations urged to protect ozone layer

Environment and Forest Minister Anwar Hossain Manju urged the developed nations to play a pioneering role to protect the ozone layer, reports BSS.
"Developing countries like ours are the worst victims of ozone layer depletion. For this, the developed countries would have to play a pioneering role to prevent ozone layer depletion," he made the appeal while speaking at a seminar at CIRDAP auditorium in the city marking World Ozone Day-2015 on Wednesday.
Organised by Department of Environment (DoE), the seminar was presided over by Secretary of Ministry for Environment and Forest Dr Kamal Uddin Ahmed. Deputy Minister for Environment Abdullah Al Islam Jacob, UNDP Bangladesh Country Director Nick Beresford and Department of Environment Director General M Raisul Islam Mandal also addressed the seminar.
