Two killed in city -

Two people were killed in two separate incidents in the city on Monday.

Police recovered a hanging body of a housewife from Khilgaon Nabinbagh area in the capital early Monday.

The deceased was identified as Lamia Akter Arpita, 23. She used to work at a private organisation and got married one year ago.

An official of Khilgaon Police Station told the FE that they had recovered the body and sent it to Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH) morgue for autopsy after completing the legal formalities.

He said that the reason of the death will be known after getting the postmortem report.

Meanwhile in another incident, a readymade garment (RMG) worker died due to electrocution as he tried to catch his pet pigeon by climbing on an electric pole at Mirpur-12 in the city.

The deceased was identified as Shahidul Islam Mandal, 21, son of Chan Mia, hailed from Qasempur village under Pirganj upazila of Rangpur.

The fatal incident took place at Elias Mia Slum in Mirpur-12 area at around 7:00pm on Sunday.
