Very Severe heatwave is sweeping over the districts of Chuadanga and Jashore and severe heat wave is sweeping over rest part of the Khulna division and the districts of Tangail, Faridpur, Gopalgonj, Manikgonj, Rajshahi, Pabna, Dinajpur and Sayedpur and mild to moderate heat wave is sweeping over Barishal division and the districts of Dhaka, Madaripur, Kishoregonj, Narsingdi, Bagura, Naogaon, Sirajgonj, Rangpur, Nilphamari, Kurigram, Panchagarh, Mymensingh, Maulovibazar, Rangamati, Chadpur, Feni, Bandarban, Noakhali and it may continue, ), according to the Met office.

The highest temperature in the country on Thursday was recorded at 42.4 degrees Celsius in Jashore while the lowest temperature 17.7 degrees Celsius in Tentulia of Rangpur.

The highest temperature in the city was recorded at 39.1 degrees Celsius and the lowest was 28.2 degrees.
