Mymensigh district Awami League organised a memorial meeting and a prayer session for its four deceased leaders at the Tareque Smriti Auditorium in the city on Sunday — BSS MYMESINGH, Oct 26 (BSS): District Awami League (AL) on Sunday evening organised a memorial meeting and special prayers at the death of its four eminent leaders.
The deceased leaders were former Public Prosecutor (PP) Advocate Wazedul Islam, Advocate Anisur Rahman Khan, Principal Reazul Islam and Prof Amir Ahamed Chowdhury Ratan.
Held at the Tareque Smriti Auditorium, the memorial meeting was presided over by Vice President of district AL and PP Advocate Khabir Uddin Bhuiyan.
Anwarul Abedin Tuhin, MP, mayor of Mymensingh City Corporation, Iqramul Haq Titu, general secretary of district AL, Advocate Moazzem Hossain Babul, president of city AL Ehatashemul Alam, joint secretary Kazi Azad Jahan, AL leaders Shamim, Abdul Quddus and Rezaul Hassan Babu, among others, took part in the event.
The speakers fondly recalled the immense contributions of the late AL leaders and urged the party leaders and workers to follow their ideals.
They paid rich tributes to the leaders and said those AL leaders had not only unlimited contributions for the party but they had played a vital role in the Liberation War in 1971.
