Shamim new Ctg Zila Parishad administrator

CHATTOGRAM, July 19: The government has appointed Mohammad Mahbuber Rahman Shamim as the Administrator of the Chattogram Zila Parishad.

A notification to this effect was issued on Sunday by the Zila Parishad Section of the Local Government Division under the Ministry of Local Government, Rural Development and Co-operatives. According to the notification, issued under Section 82A (1) of the Zila Parishad Act, 2000, Mohammad Mahbuber Rahman Shamim will serve as the full-time Administrator of the Chattogram Zila Parishad until the parishad is constituted or until further orders are issued.

Under Section 82A (3) of the Act, he will exercise the powers and perform the duties of the Chairman of the Chattogram Zila Parishad. He will also be entitled to allowances and other benefits in accordance with the existing rules.

Mahbuber Rahman Shamim is the Central Organising Secretary of the Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP).

Reacting to the appointment, Shamim said, "I express my gratitude to BNP Acting Chairman Tarique Rahman for entrusting me with this responsibility. I will work with utmost sincerity for the development of the areas under the jurisdiction of the Chattogram Zila Parishad."
