Chittagong Metropolitan Chamber of Commerce & Industry

Thanks to a proposal made by late A.B.M. Mohiuddin Chowdhury to the Honorable Prime Minister, the people of Chattogram is now getting the Bangabandhu Tunnel under the river Karnaphuli. Chattogram has now become a city of two towns. On opening of the tunnel there will be huge scope of industrialisation and the southern side of the Karnaphuli will turn into a hub of ocean-bound business. It will create huge employment opportunities in southern Chattogram and its vicinity.

Since the tunnel will connect highways on both sides of the river that will ease communication with the sea town of Cox's Bazar. It will aid development of tourism in Bangladesh.

On the other hand, thanks to the tunnel, the area comprising Anwara, Patiya, Chandanaish and Bashkhali will develop industrially. Resultantly, it will help promote exports from the country. Thus the industrialisation will help the country move forward to become a developed one by 2041 and the dream of the Honorable Prime Minister will come true.

In conclusion, on behalf of Chittagong Metropolitan Chamber of Commerce and Industry we would like to thank the Honorable Prime Minister and the government led by her for doing this gigantic development work that will usher in a new era for the people of Chattogram as well as others in the country.
