This year's Asia Cup is one of the major points of discussion at the meeting. The eight-team tournament is scheduled for September in the UAE, although the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) holds the hosting rights. There is concern, however, that the
BCCI's absence at the meeting could have implications for the Asia Cup too, according to ESPN.
It is the first time that the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) is hosting a high-level ACC meeting. Board president Aminul Islam said that they
were only providing logistical support to the ACC. He also didn't comment about the BCCI's and Sri Lanka Cricket Board (SLC)'s absence.
"We agreed with the ACC to organise this year's AGM," Aminul said on Tuesday. "It is an
ACC programme. We are providing them with logistical support.
That's all we are doing. We are in touch with the ACC, who is informing us who is coming and who is not, as we have to make arrangements for airport pick-ups, hotel bookings and other support."
On Wednesday, Aminul and BCB chief executive Nizamuddin Chowdhury received Mohsin Naqvi, the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) and ACC president, at the Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport.
