Adviser for proper enforcement of Consumer Rights Protection Act

Commerce Adviser Sk Bashir Uddin emphasised on Sunday the need for ensuring proper enforcement of the Consumer Rights Protection Act, 2009, reports UNB.
He said this while chairing the 28th meeting of the National Consumers' Right Protection Council at the conference room of the directorate in Dahaka.
Addressing the importance of self-awareness in consumers' rights, the adviser said the self-correction would come if the stakeholders could be reached out upon ensuring awareness.
Every person has a responsibility in society, they need to be informed about that responsibility, he said, urging to include the concept of enhancing consumer rights and morality in the education programme if necessary.


Commerce Secretary (routine charge) Mohammad Navid Safiullah, Director General of Consumers' Right Protection Council Md Abdul Alim Khan, Federation of Bangladesh Chamber of Commerce and Industries Administrator Md Hafizur Rahman, Consumers Association of Bangladesh (CAB) General Secretary Md Humayun Kabir, Bangladesh Standards and Testing Institution (BSTI) Director General SM Ferdous Alam and representative of Directorate General of Drug Administration spoke on the occasion.
