City Bank appoints heads of wholesale, corporate banking

City Bank has appointed Mesbaul Asif Siddiqui as its new head of wholesale banking. Prior to this role, he served as the chief risk officer of the bank, strengthening the institution's risk management framework.
The bank has also appointed Mohammad Mahmud Gony as DMD and head of corporate banking. Before assuming this position, he served as the head of commercial banking and cluster head of the RMG & textile unit at the bank.
Mr Asif began his career as a management trainee at Eastern Bank in 1999. Over the years, he gathered extensive experience in wholesale banking, working for the Commercial Bank of Ceylon and HSBC, where he spent nine years in their Bangladesh and Singapore offices.

After joining City Bank in 2015, he played a key role in driving the bank's sustainability agenda and green financing initiatives. He completed an MBA in finance from the University of Dhaka and an MBM from the Bangladesh Institute of Bank Management (BIBM).
Mr Mahmud Gony's started his career at City Bank in 2001 as a management trainee. With 24 years of experience in corporate banking and credit risk management, he has been a key driver of business growth, particularly in expanding loan portfolios, increasing trade volumes, and enhancing non-funded income streams.
