Five listed cos raise Tk 14.45 billion through rights

A total of five listed companies raised funds worth above Tk 14.45 billion, including premium of over Tk 8.43 billion, by issuing rights shares during the fiscal year (FY) 2014-15, officials said.
According to information of Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE), during the FY 2013-14, six companies issued rights and raised an aggregate amount of funds worth above Tk 6.81 billion.
The companies which issued rights shares during the FY 2014-15 include state-run Investment Corporation of Bangladesh (ICB), Delta Spinners, MIDAS Financing, Bangladesh Industrial and Finance Company and First Security Islami Bank.
Among the companies, only the ICB issued rights shares with premiums and the remaining four companies issued rights shares at the face value without taking any premiums.
The ICB issued above 210 million shares at a ratio of 1R:2 with an offer price of Tk 50, including a premium of Tk 40 for each ten taka share.
The state-run ICB raised a fund worth above Tk 10.54 billion, including the premium of over Tk 8.43 billion.
Delta Spinners issued above 9.1 million shares at the face value and raised capital worth over Tk 91.72 million.
MIDAS Financing issued over 60.13 million shares at an offer price of Tk 10 per share and raised funds worth above Tk 601.34 million.
BD Industrial and Finance Company issued above 33.55 million shares at an offer price of Tk 10 per share and collected funds worth above Tk 335.59 million.
First Security Islami Bank raised a fund worth above Tk 2.05 billion by issuing more than 205.71 million shares at an offer price of Tk 10 per share.
