To enhance carbon accounting and carbon emission measurement practices, United Commercial Bank has signed a strategic agreement with Ernst & Young Advisory Services Bangladesh.
United Commercial Bank has signed an agreement with Ernst & Young Advisory Services Bangladesh Limited (EY ASBL) to prepare its greenhouse gas (GHG) Inventory, through which the bank's carbon emissions generated from its operations will be measured and analysed.
The agreement was formally signed recently at UCB's corporate office. It is considered a strategic initiative to strengthen the bank's environmental sustainability efforts, according to a press release.
Scope of the measurement and analysis include direct emissions from the bank's own activities; emissions resulting from electricity or energy consumption; and other indirect emissions related to the bank's operational activities.
Through this comprehensive assessment, UCB will gain a clear understanding of its environmental impact.
