Green diesel, aviation fuel to be produced from wastes in Ctg
US-based Bringia Energy Global LLC (BEG) and Canada-based Disruptive Hydrogen Technology (DHT) have inked a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with Chattogram City Corporation (CCC) to produce green diesel and sustainable aviation fuel utilising wastes in Chattogram. Under the terms of the MoU, the BEG and the DHT will jointly produce around 45 million to 60 million gallons of environmentally-friendly green diesel and sustainable aviation fuel annually processing 3,000 tonnes of wastes to be provided by the CCC. CCC Mayor Dr Shahadat Hossain signed the MoU on behalf of the CCC, while BEG President Ziaur Rahman Chowdhury and the DHT Asia Pacific President signed on behalf of their respective companies at the CCC office on Wednesday. "This project represents a significant advancement towards achieving sustainable and profitable waste management for the CCC," said the CCC Mayor. This is the first such initiative in Asia, said the BEG President. "We are fully prepared to begin operations utilising technology developed by our parent company, DHT," he said.
