Jaynal Abedin made CEO of BAIRA Life

BAIRA Life Insurance Company Limited, a third generation life insurer, has recently confirmed appointment of Md. Jaynal Abedin Bhuiyan as its Chief Executive Officer (CEO), the company said in a statement received on Thursday.

Abedin has been in the life insurance industry for more than 22 years holding leadership positions in areas like Sales & Distribution Management, Training & Development, Market Expansion in Urban & Semi-Urban areas, and Strategic Business Planning.

Prior to this appointment, he was Senior Executive Vice President and Head of National Sales at the Bangladesh operation of the global life insurance giant MetLife and also held different senior positions like Training Manager, Deputy Agency Director and Director- Agency Distribution at MetLife.

During the tenure at MetLife, he developed close professional relationship with the field force and had proved himself as a motivational leader helping MetLife Bangladesh ensure sustainable business growth, the statement says.

BAIRA Life Insurance Company Limited Chairman Mofizur Rahman Chowdhury expressed his gratitude to the Insurance Development and Regulatory Authority (IDRA) for approving appointment of Md. Jaynal Abedin Bhuiyan on time. He pinned his hopes on Abedin's leadership skills for betterment of its life insurance business.

Commenting on his appointment, Mr. Abedin stated that it had been an honour to be appointed as CEO of BAIRA Life Insurance Company Limited.

In the current socio-economic situation of the country, there were huge opportunities to bring more people under the life insurance coverage, he said. He expressed his firm belief that BAIRA Life would soon be repositioned and regain its reputation by providing services to the people with utmost care and sincerity, and ensuring sustainable business growth.

"Proper and appropriate guidance from the dynamic Board of Directors of the company will help BAIRA Life regain its lost glory very soon", Abedin hopes.
